英语小故事(范文3篇)
The Ant and the Dove
One hot summer day, an ant was searching for some water. After walking around for some time, she came to a small river. To reach the river, she had to climb up a blade of grass. While making her way up, she slipped and fell into the water.
She could have drowned if a dove up in a nearby tree had not seen her. Seeing that the ant was in trouble, the dove quickly plucked off a leaf and dropped it into the water near the struggling ant. The ant moved towards the leaf and climbed up onto it. Soon, the leaf drifted to dry ground, and the ant jumped out, safe at last.
Not long after that, a hunter came by, aiming his gun at the dove. The ant, who was still nearby, saw what was happening. She knew she had to do something to save the dove. So, she ran quickly towards the hunter and bit his foot hard.
The hunter cried out in pain, and his gun went off in the air. Startled by the noise, the dove flew away to safety. Thus, the little ant repaid the dove for saving her life.

An old tiger lives in the forest. He does not want to look for food himself. One day, he sees a monkey and says, "Monkey, I'm hungry. Go and bring me some food."
The monkey says, "Oh, tiger king, there is another tiger over there. He doesn't let me get any food for you. He is very big and strong."
The tiger is angry and says, "Show me that tiger. I'll kill him."
The monkey takes the tiger to a big river. "Look into the water," says the monkey. "There he is! See his head? Look at his big teeth. Isn't he bigger and stronger than you?"
The tiger looks into the water. There is a tiger looking at him angrily. As soon as he moves, the tiger in the water moves too. The tiger is very angry. He jumps into the water to fight the other tiger. Of course, the tiger in the water is just his reflection. The tiger can't come out again because he can't swim.
The monkey is very happy. Now he can live safely in the forest.

The Boy Who Cried Wolf
Once upon a time, there was a young shepherd boy. He was bored watching over the sheep all day on the hill near his village.
To have some fun, he decided to play a trick. He shouted at the top of his voice, "Wolf! Wolf! The wolf is coming!"
The villagers heard his cries and rushed up the hill to help him. But when they got there, they found no wolf. The boy laughed and said, "There's no wolf. I just wanted to see if you would come."
The villagers were angry with the boy for lying to them, but they went back to their homes.
A few days later, the boy played the same trick again. Once more, he shouted, "Wolf! Wolf! The wolf is coming!" Again, the villagers rushed to help him, only to find that there was no wolf. They were very disappointed and warned the boy not to lie anymore.
Then, one day, a real wolf actually came. The boy was terrified. He shouted as loudly as he could, "Wolf! Wolf! Help!"
But this time, the villagers thought he was playing another trick. No one came to help him. The wolf attacked the sheep and even bit the boy.
From that day on, the boy learned that no one would believe a liar even when he tells the truth.
